Seasonal affective disorder.

Updated: Oct 18, 2019

Not long now before the clocks change. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. Often, people suffer with Seasonal Affective Disorder this time of year, (or SAD) this is a clinical type of depression and it comes with varying severity. SAD is the highest level of reoccurring depression at this time of year, with the winter blues being less severe, but affecting more people. Both conditions cause symptoms of gloominess, irritability, fatigue, lack of social interest and craving carbohydrates.

Reiki is a great therapy for these conditions as it restores balance. The lack of sunlight this time of year creates a biochemical imbalance, but reiki can rebalance the mind, body and emotional state relieving the symptoms. Reiki can also improve the mood. A more positive mind creates a more positive energy and renewed enthusiasm creating a brighter outlook. Reiki also allows you to relax. Giving relief to mind, body and emotional state, giving strength to cope which is often difficult to achieve when suffering with any sort of depression. This rebalancing of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing allows the symptoms of seasonal affective disorder simply fall away. If you are a severe SAD sufferer, or just feeling sluggish from the colder, darker days, you can book an appointment with me on the following link. https://www.thenaturalhealthhub.co.uk/the-team/jen-blaxall/
