Foraging wild food

Nature is abundant with offerings right now. It's the best time to forage your blackberries, haws, hips, sloes and apples, Hazelnuts and wild mint. Get busy with your harvest and freeze your fruits. Store your apples and nuts in a cool place and enjoy a fresh mint tea. Soon I will be giving you monthly recipes for your foraged foods.

When foraging, please do not pick from SSSI sites, be sure about your harvest (especially mushrooms) Leave some for the birds and I would recommend not picking too low where little legs can be cocked! And if you drop any on the floor while picking, leave them there for small mammals.
